Day 31 Sun 19 May - Inflight Paris >> Tokyo >> Sydney

The food in the Air France lounge was not very exciting but the showers were great with some little L'Occitane goodies in the toilet bag. I (Val) passed on dinner and settled down to sleep straight away - stirred a few times but slept for about 6 or so hours, then dozed a bit longer. Enjoyed the movie Argo and the 12 hour flight passed quickly.

Just a little bit more excitement to round the trip off. Our Air France flight from Paris to Tokyo ran a little late. We originally had a 2 1/2 hour transit time between flights from Paris-Tokyo and Tokyo-Sydney.

However, an hour late into Tokyo, we were met at the Tokyo arrival gate by the call from a young lady "Passenger for Sydney. Passenger for Sydney." After we identified ourselves, we were told the transit bus between the 2 terminals (we arrived at Narita airport Terminal 1 and were to depart from Terminal 2) would leave in 6 minutes .... but not how far away it was going to be. Led by our young airport attendant, we literally ran for what seemed forever, up stairs, down escalators, along passageways .... and made the bus. We checked in witth 15 minues to spare and hoped our bags made it across in time too.

On board, what a joy it was to go up the stairs to the upper deck on the Qantas 747 and see the spacious seating area that awaited us. After all the rushing we quickly relaxed for the 2nd (last) leg of the journey. The  recorded safety announcements are made by a series of , I'm guessing, Q staff . I couldn't help smiling as they each said their bit - what a range of Aussie accents!
I wasn't looking forward to the flights home, expecting to bored but in fact they went quite quickly.

Rating the airlines we have used this time Qantas number 1 by a long way, then JAL and finally Air France.
