Have just about used a whole box of tissues today!Yes it's a head cold.
We took a few last photos and headed off towards Bath in overcast weather. This time when we went through Dunmere (we'd been before on our way to The Eden Project at St Austell) Greg found a place to stop and take photos of the tracks still visible across the road. I stayed in the car and this remained the pattern for the day.
Next stop was Bodmin - there was a steam railway there (Surprise, surprise :-)
Detoured to Shepton Mallet (another historical railway location) but this time it was just an alternative route to where we were headed, Norton St Philip.
The weather was mostly overcast with occasional showers and occasional bursts of sunshine. We arrived at Norton St Phillip at about 3.30pm and checked into The George Inn, an orignal 14th century inn with heavily weathered moss covered slated roof . Within 30 minutes of arriving I was tucked up in a big bed with carved wooden headboard, a cup of tea and the box of tissues. Greg headed off to the bar with the iPad. The inn has free wifi but because of the oldthick stone walls, you have to go to the bar or lounge to use it. The signal isn't strong enough to get through.
We watched the FA Cup to see Wigan beat Mancester City 1 - 0 on the TV in our room before going down for dinner in the bar. My chicken and tarragon pie came with pumpkin and beans. Boy did I enjoy them, especially the pumpkin. I haven't had any pumpkin in 3 weeks!
